I've designed and created jewelry and wearable art full time as DeGroot Designs since 1987. I fabricate all my work using sterling silver and mixed metals in my Tacoma, Washington, studio.  

I design jewelry for both casual and business wear. Comfort, lightweight, and ease of care are all important considerations.

I am a former professor of jewelry design and metalsmithing. I’ve also worked as a shipyard welder and rigger, Alaskan commercial fisherman, artist’s model, bartender, cab driver and assistant chimney sweep.​

I join Seattle's top professional craftspeople each year for Seattle Sampling, the most established holiday arts and crafts studio tour.

Seattle Sampling is a 3-day, self-guided tour for the holidays—an intimate opportunity to meet the artists in their studios.
